    Reading #Boost SC thread on #CLA's - there are companies that don't want to *use* sw because project has no CLA? New 1 on me. cc: @bkuhn

      Presumably by "use" they mean "adopt into product & distribute", at least, that's what I think they mean. Conversation is muddled.

      @bkuhn I mean, what's next? "We can't distribute #Linux kernel because upstream doesn't use Apache #CLA " ?? #whathathestablishmentwrought

      I'm arguing that #CLA's aren't needed & I encourage *all* !Conservancy projects to use inbound=outbound,maybe w/DCO. Wish #Fedora'd do same!

      @bkuhn typical #Fedora contributions are atypical, but good argument that no contributor agreement necessary. Exists for historical reasons.

      @bkuhn !disturbing to see how #Conservancy project could be influenced by desire to gain corporate user even in face of irrationality.

      @bkuhn #Fedora effectively inbound=outbound but penalizes lazy contributors

      @bkuhn possibly main value of #DCO is now fooling corporations into thinking it's a contributor agreement.

      #Fedora policy *isn't* "effectively inbound=outbound" but "all contributions permissively licensed by default". Lazy outcome should be i=b.

      @fontana,nothing in this discussion supports your conclusion AFAICT. "Having a conversation" isn't "being influenced". Thanks for the troll.

      @bkuhn that #Fedora has contributor agreement at all is largely for historical reasons
